RS 14 cr to develop Dattapeeth

Kaimara-Nethichowka road to be all season road

The road works from Kaimara to Kemmanagundi is taking place at a cost of Rs 8.5 crores and the Dattapeeth developmental works will cost up to Rs 14 crores, said the MLA after initiating these works.

The entire developmental cost of Dattapeeth will sum up to Rs 18.5 crore. The project has plans to provide basic facilities to tourists. The road from Kaimara to Nethichowka on Kemmanagundi road will be made all seasonal. As Dattapeeth area receives heavy rainfall, concrete road has been laid in two kilometre stretch at a cost of Rs four crore.

Various places near the Datta peeth will be developed, barring those spots which are under litigation. The development will be taken up in such a way that it will not have adverse affect on the environment.

The MLA said that importance will be given to develop an eco-friendly tourism destination.
The contract for road work has been given to Mahaveera organisation. More tourists are expected to visit the Peeth in near future. Galikere and Manikyadhara will be developed, said the MLA.

Ravi pointed that an vast area of 1,433 acre has been misappropriated during re-allocation of land. A memorandum has been submitted to the Chief Minister asking for a thorough investigation on the same, he added.
