Last Updated 28 July 2009, 16:26 IST

Sanofi Pasteur acquired ShanH, which held majority stake in Shantha Biotechnics— a privately held maker of vaccines against Hepatitis B, Diphteria and Tetanus, among others. ShanH, the French subsidiary of Merieux Alliance, had bought stake in Shantha Biotechnics in November last year.

Sanofi-aventis said in a statement that it has signed with Merieux Alliance a “strategic agreement for the acquisition by Sanofi Pasteur of Merieux Alliance’s French Subsidiary ShanH, which owns a majority stake in Vaccine company Shantha Biotechnics.”
