'It is for the CM to respond to PC's letter'

Law Minister Suresh Kumar said the Cabinet did not discuss the communication. However, the government was exploring all avenues to respond to the letter. “We have left it to the discretion of the Chief Minister,” Suresh Kumar said.

BJP sources said party legal eagles including Leader of the Opposition in the Rajya Sabha Arun Jaitley were studying the communication to help Yeddyurappa frame his reply.

He said the letter was advisory in nature. In his letter, Chidambaram had spelt out how  the governance had suffered in the state because of various factors. The letter followed the Centre rejecting Governor H R Bhardwaj’s recommendation imposition President’s rule in the state.
