The police arrested Ravindra Kumar Nanda and his wife Prameela from a two-bedroom serviced apartment on the fifth floor in ‘J’ Block of Diamond District in the City.

"They had applied for anticipatory bail before coming to Bangalore. The Faridabad police decided to arrest them after a local court rejected their bail application," Martin Alvares, ACP (Airport Sub-Division) told Deccan Herald.

Faraya Khwaja police of Faridabad registered cases under various Sections of IPC against the couple on January 1, 2011.  They allegedly sold a disputed land and collected Rs 7.80 crore from the purchasers. However, they failed to complete the transactions and were absconding, Faraya Khwaja police station sub-inspector Rajbeer Singh said.

The couple fled from Faridabad on May 15 and reached Bangalore on May 18.  The Faridabad police who were on the look out for the duo, came to Bangalore three days ago.

The police tracked them down when they spotted the vehicle, in which the suspects had travelled to Bangalore, parked in the Diamond District. Based on details available, they raided the apartment early in the morning.
