Debt-ridden farmer commits suicide

The deceased Babu (32)  had borrowed a debt of more than Rs 1 lakh from two finance companies from Gauribidanur and Hindupur.


When the crops failed, a depressed Babu took the extreme step.  No one was at home when he committed the act, stated the police.

Though he was admitted to the General Hospital in Gudibande, he died as the treatment failed.

The family members of Babu have lodged a complaint to the Gauribudanur rural police.
The rural police have registered a case and further investigation regarding the case is on.

Rivalry leads to murder

Siblings rivalry over an affair with a woman ended in murder of the elder one at Gundlahalli village under the Manchenahalli hobli limits in Gauribidanur on Monday.
The deceased is Venkatesh (35). Venkatesh and his brother Govinda used to fight constantly over an affair the two had with the same woman.

On Monday night around 10 pm, following a heated argument, an angry Govinda hit Venkatesh’s head with an iron rod and surrendered to the Manchenahalli police.
Manchenahalli police have registered a case.  Deputy Superintendent of Police Duggappa, circle inspector Srinivasmurthy, Sub-inspector Munikrishna visited the spot.
