Weeds cover water tank in Aldoor

The villagers allege that owing to the negligent attitude of the Basaravalli Gram Panchayat, the villagers are not in a position to get the benefit. The tank was constructed in 2005-06. The maintenance of the tank was handed over to the Basaravalli Gram Panchayat. Owing to lack of maintenance, the tank is surrounded by weeds and has remained unutilised.

Khandya hobli ZP member Thimmaiah said that he along with Gram Panchayat President had visited the spot to inspect the poor quality of work on tank. “I will try to set right the problem after holding talks with the ZP engineers. All the efforts will be made to supply water to the villagers,” he said.

Basaravalli Gram Panchayat President Ravi said the quality of work is not upto the mark. However, after it was handed over to the Gram Panchayat for maintenance, Gram Panchayat has failed to maintain it. “The tank will be set right after holding talks with the contractor,” he said.
