HC notice to BSY on denotification

Bangalore district and Bangalore rural district Cooperative Banks  Employees’ House Building Cooperative Society had filed a petition challenging the cancellation of denotification. The Chief Minister has been arrayed as 10th respondent in the petition.

The Bangalore Development Authority had allotted the land to the Society in 1999 for Rs 53 lakh. The land was denotified in January 2010 and the order was withdrawn in September same year. The  BDA acquired the land to form Nagarabhavi II Stage in 1982 and the final notification was issued in 1985.

The land owners’ attempt to reclaim the acquired land went in vain with the courts dismissing their petition. They had filed a petition following withdrawal of the denotification order.
