JOIN USTeja too good for Gokul
In an intense battle that saw both players going for the broke early on with a swift exchange of punches, Teja put his better reach to good effect as the referee awarded the match to the Andhra lad in the second round after Gokul suffered a cut on his nose.
With Gokul charging from the sound of the bell Teja had to rely on his movement and counter-attacking skills. Although he took some blows in the beginning, Teja regrouped quickly to deliver some punishing punches that left his opponent in a tizzy by the end of round one.
Still in a state of daze Gokul was stunned with a vicious right-hander that opened up his nose in the next round. With the momentum completely on his side, the 16-year-old Teja then had Gokul cornered thereafter before the referee stopped the bout in former’s favour.
