Copertina, trained by S Abbas and ridden by PS Chouhan, won the S Malakonda Reddy Memorial Cup over 1400 metres for Category II horses, the main event of the races here on Wednesday.

Copertina spared a length and a half at the finish to Lady Escort (Ravinder S up). Rudolph Valentino, ridden by R Umesh, was a further half-length back in third place, and Christopher steered Indian Dancer to fourth.
