Like Monday, the approval was given to the government to draw the money from the Consolidated Fund of Karnataka through a voice vote, with no debate on the need for the additional expenditure.

The government has proposed to spend major portion of the supplementary estimate towards lake desilting and rejuvenation programme (Rs 840 crore) and improvement of 15,000 km of core road network (Rs 800 crore) in the State. The government has planned to desilt and rejuvenate at least two lakes in every Assembly constituency.

Besides, the government wants to implement the Coconut Crop Improvement programme (Rs 25 crore), reimburse medical expenses of the Chief Justice, judges and retired judges of the Karnataka High Court (Rs 25 lakh), fencing Devika Rani Roerich Estate (Rs 1.15 crore), imparting quality education in eight Madrasas (Rs 4.90 crore) and meeting the salary expenses of staff of various government departments.

As the Chief Minister Yeddyurappa, who hold the finance portfolio, piloted the bill in the House, independent MLA Venkataramanappa staged a walkout. The MLA was opposed to the Speaker taking up the Finance Bill in the absence of the Congress and the JD(S), which have boycotted the session.
