Palike to inspect fire safety in multi-storey buildings

At a meeting convened on Wednesday, the BBMP commissioner along with zonal commissioners and officers from the Fire department framed an action plan and will be submitting an affidavit to the court soon.

The six-member team will carry out the inspections. The team will inspect at least 100 buildings in three days and submit a report.

The Palike has directed the owners and occupants of buildings concerned to cooperate and furnish necessary documents.

Textbooks on time

Deputy Mayor S Harish distributed textbooks and notebooks to students of Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike  schools in June first week for the first time. “Every year undue delay in distributing books hampered children’s education. However, this year, we ensured that students received books on time," said Harish.

CBSE curriculum

For the first time, the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike has started CBSE curriculum in the Palike-run school in Srirampura, in collaboration with the Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan, the deputy mayor said.
