Elderly woman duped by unidentified person

Ammayyamma , resident of first cross, Sir M Visvesarayanagar of the town is the woman who lost chain.  

An unidentified person who arrived on Pulsar bike identified with an elderly woman as Ravishankar,a police inspector by profession when the lady came out of her residence to purchase milk around 6 am. The person said to Ammayyamma  that her son Lashmeesh was caught by police in a murder case in Mysore and brought to Town Police  Station. He demanded  her gold chain to get bail for release of her son. He threatened the lady that her son will go to jail in case if she not gives her gold chain. Without any suspicion, the lady given her gold chain to an unidentified person.

When his son not returned after some time, the lady went to the police station along with neighbours and narrated the incident to the police. Ammayyamma filed a police complaint in this regard. Meanwhile, Town Circle Police Inspector Prashanth said that cheating cases has been increasing in city and cautioned people to be wary about suspected persons.

Truck driver assaulted

Police arrested three persons on charges of assaulting a truck driver and looting cash from him near Bairapatna on Wednesday night. 

Govindaiah,Narasimha and Shyamsundara were the accused. They were residents of Harohalli village of Kanakapura taluk. The trio who were arrived on Tata Indica car had lifted cash, mobile phone from truck driver after intercepting him. The truck was laden with granite and moving towards Mysore from Andhra Pradesh.

Based on the complaint filed by the truck driver, the police nabbed the accused when they were drinking tea near tea shop at Gejjalegere in Maddur taluk in a swift operation. The accused has been produced to judicial custody.
