Meanwhile, the killing of kidnapped victims Sudheendra (19) and his classmate Vijnesh BBM students of Mahajana College in Mysore, has sent shock waves in the town.

Sudheendra son of iron merchant Mohan was kidnapped on Wednesday along with his friend and their bodies were found near Chikkaballapur on Saturday night.

Sudheendra completed his primary schooling at St Joseph’s school in the town and then moved to Ramakrishna Ashram in Mysore where he passed his PUC in science stream. As he had not been able to score high marks, he joined BBM in Mahajana college.

Every day he would travel from Hunsur to the college along with his friends Vijnesh and Manoj. His closest friend Manoj studying B Com  in the same college, speaking to Deccan Herald said, “Sudheendra was a quiet natured boy from childhood. There was not a single incident of him getting into fights during his school days. We were travelling by bus together to attend college.”

“His other close friend apart from Vijnesh was Sumukh from Kollegal. We were all regularly having lunch together in college most of the days. Except studies, Sudheendra was not interested in any extra curricular activities. He was also involved in household duties. Like his father, even he was highly religious thus he was regularly visiting temples,” said his childhood friend.

Sudheendra was not only helping his mother at home, he would also go to the shop to help his father in his business, said one of his close relatives.

Only heir

Sudheendra is the only male child in Ashok and Mohan’s family. Mohan’s brother Ashok has one  daughter who was married recently. Both the brothers were looking forward to the future of Sudheendra. Now their dreams are shattered after the tragic incident.

Innocent Vijnesh

Vijnesh, the childhood friend of Sudheendra was unwittingly caught in the trap and his life snuffed out. The kidnappers allegedly had no intention of targetting Vijnesh, but was sucked in because he was with Sudheendra.

He had completed his PUC in St Joseph’s School in the town and was studying BBM in Mahajana’s College.

His father Srinath said that he had gone to write his second semester exam on Wednesday from Hunsur.

He had called his aunt who lives close to Mahajana College in Mysore and informed her that he would visit her house in 5-10 minutes, said Vijnesh’s aunt.

Vijnesh was a keen cricketer, recalled his friends.
