<p>Kodihalli Chandrashekar, president of the Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha, addressed the protesting members of the Sangha and the Hasiru Sene. According to Chandrashekar, the farmers were getting a meagre Rs 16 lakh per acre as opposed to the market price of Rs 1.5 crore. The farmers threatened to intensify the stir if the their demand was not met.<br /><br />Receiving a memorandum from the farmers, Urban Development Minister Suresh Kumar assured the agitators that a dialogue would be facilitated with the chief minister to resolve the issue. <br /><br />The PRR project was notified in 2005 and owners of over 1,800 acres were served notice for acquiring their land. However, the project showed no sign of completion.</p>
