Kodihalli Chandrashekar, president of the Karnataka Rajya Raitha Sangha, addressed the protesting members of the Sangha and the Hasiru Sene. According to Chandrashekar, the farmers were getting a meagre Rs 16 lakh per acre as opposed to the market price of Rs 1.5 crore. The farmers threatened to intensify the stir if the their demand was not met.

Receiving a memorandum from the farmers, Urban Development Minister Suresh Kumar assured the agitators that a dialogue would be facilitated with the chief minister to resolve the issue.

The PRR project was notified in 2005 and owners of over 1,800 acres were served notice for acquiring their land. However, the project showed no sign of completion.
