If I had not succumbed to the pressure, then the development scenario would have been different today,”said MLA C T Ravi.

Addressing the gethering over an interaction organised by District Working Journalists’ Association on Wednesday at Forest Information Centre in Chikmagalur, Ravi said that State government has sanctioned Rs 479.73 crore for the constituency. “My dream is to utilise the tourism and educational potentials in the district to the fullest. I have asked the CM to open a MBA and Women’s Pre University College,” he said adding that in three years he could realise five of his dream projects.

He said that 80 per cent of Belavadi lake project has been completed. A sum of Rs 17 crore has been provided by the state for development of Dattapeeta. The Tourism department has released Rs 4 lakh, which will be utilised for laying concrete road from Athigundi to Dattapeeta. A comprehensive development plan will be made ready to utilise remaining Rs 13 crore.

Talking openly on Dattapeeta issue, Ravi said that it has never been a vote bank gimmick for him. Instead, it had always been a struggle for right.

Assets

Ravi said that he has submitted his asset details to the Lokayukta in 2004, 2008 and 2011. “I have exactly the same asset as shown by me to the Lokayukta.”

Answering a query by reportes that there are allegations that he has an asset of Rs 100 crore, Ravi mocked saying that there are allegations that they own property worth Rs 2,000 crore.

“The fact is that after I became the MLA, my father sold a property of 40 acre recently. To convince you all, I will submit my asset details to you,” said Ravi adding that he is however not a poor MLA either. “My father had given me a share in his property, which is about 110 acres. I am not a corrupt person so I would never agree to take the tag of being a corrupt MLA,” he said.
