CII stresses on quality

Speaking at the inauguration of the programme, B Muthuraman, managing director, Tata Steel, warned that those companies that do not follow the ‘Culture of Quality’ will not survive during the recession period.

“Companies must adopt immediately a three-pronged strategy – Standardisation of process, continuous improvement and innovation to deliver quality products, if they want to stay afloat in these difficult times the global economy is going through,” he said.

K N Shenoy, chairman of CII IQ said, “Quality should permeate all walks of life so that even the grassroot-level people also get to enjoy the fruits of quality movement in India. The movement promoted by CII-Institute of Quality has made a significant contribution to the growth of Indian industry and, today, there are several examples of global excellence achieved by Corporate sector. It is a never-ending journey and the benchmarks keep changing.
