The store was being run sans trade licence, on New Sayyaji Rao Road. However, when the team went to the shop for inspection, a wordy duel ensued among the officers and the owner. The owner claimed innocence, when the officers reminded the former about the notice intimating renewal of trade licence in advance.

The owner had not renewed the licence for the past two years. Eventually the shop was locked, giving time for the shopkeeper to secure the licence.

Another store nearby was also locked, but allowed to reopen when its owner paid penalty amount on the spot. Several other shops were inspected in the vicinity, and penalty was collected from the erring parties.
