Hotel worker crushed to death

The victim is Manjunath, a worker at Mathru Sagar on 50 Feet Road, Hanumanthnagar and a native of Bellur in Nagamangala, Mandya district. Police said Manjunath usually slept in the hotel dormitory.

After the day’s work on Monday, he left the hotel at night and did not return to the dormitory. In the morning, he was found dead in the hotel passage. According to preliminary investigations, some of Manjunath’s co-workers he had quarrelled with a few days ago, may have been involved in the crime.

Rowdy aide murdered

Anil, a former aide of notorious rowdy JCB Narayana, was hacked to death Monday evening by a gang of men on the outskirts of Kodati village, Bangalore Rural (Bangalore-Bommasandra Road), around 35 km from the City.

A resident of Begur, Anil alias Begur Anila, in his early 30s, was on his way to attend a funeral around 3 pm in a high-end car on the City outskirts.

The armed gang chased him, threw chilli powder in his eyes and brutally attacked him with weapons, even as he ran for cover. Police said Anil was seen in the company of JCB till a few months ago. After his marriage recently, he had given up his criminal activities.

KRV man attempts suicide

Bogged down by financial and personal problems, a Karnataka Rakshana Vedike activist consumed poison at a hotel in Gandhinagar in Majestic area.
Harish, a resident of RT Nagar and secretary of Bangalore City KRV, survived after timely medical intervention.

Vedike activists tried to hush up the case and took Harish to Suguna Hospital on Dr Rajkumar Road in Rajajinagar.

When pressure mounted, they played the sympathy card saying: “Please leave him alone, his wife is pregnant.”

Man kills self

Raghavendra (26), a resident of Kadirenahalli, was found hanging from the shower pipe in the bathroom of his house.

According to the police, Raghavendra married a 20-year-old girl about three weeks ago.

He had breakfast with his wife and mother Sunday morning. At around 11.45 am, however, Raghavendra went to the bathroom on the pretext of having a bath and hung himself with a saree.
