The Minister told reporters that the envelope containing the names of candidates had not been opened yet. According to the apex court direction, the names of only three candidates should be recommended. Ashoka said he got to know through the media that the names of two candidates had already been recommended to the government.
After the Supreme Court verdict, Ashoka, who is also the chief of the selection committee, will hold discussions with Law Minister Suresh Kumar and the chief secretary and zero in on the candidate. He said he had also discussed the matter with the chief minister.
