Two held for cheating many

Police said, Savithramma, who had parted ways with her husband, allegedly had an affair with Mahadevappa. He owned five houses in JP Nagar and gave two houses on rent, and three on lease. The houses were let out through Savithramma. She allegedly mentioned herself as Mahadevappa’s wife in rent and lease agreements. Mahadevappa was not aware of the same, police added.

Recently, Mahadevappa directed the tenants to vacate the houses. The tenants showed him the agreement papers and refused to vacate immediately. He allegedly threatened them and claimed he never married Savithramma.

One of the tenants Santosh lodged a complaint with the police. The police arrested both of them and sent them to Central Prisons, Parappana Agrahara, police said.
