Prerna now plays Belgian qualifier Desiree Bastianon, who advanced after sixth-seeded South Korean Hae-Sung Kim, a finalist here last week, twisted her right ankle and conceded the match while trailing 6-4, 4-6, 1-4.
Also advancing to the semifinal was national champion Ratnika Batra, who shocked Stephanie Scimone with a 6-3, 6-2 victory.
Ratnika now faces a tougher test in top seed Keren Shlomo of Israel who overcame last week’s winner Zhaoxuan Yang.
