The victim Yash was rescued from an orphanage in Haryana’s Gohana while Dharam Singh (42) and his 14-year-old son were arrested for allegedly kidnapping Yash from outside his Nangloi residence on July 21. Yash’s paternal grandfather Balwant Singh reported the kidnapping to police.

Police said, they managed to trace the STD booth from where the father-son duo made a call to Yash’s family. As per description given by the STD booth owner, the portrait of the caller was prepared. Probe also revealed that a day before the kidnapping, the 14-year-old boy had visited his sister’s house. He stayed there for two days and left a day after the kidnapping.

A police team was sent to a village in Panipat where the teenager was interrogated, during which the juvenile broke down. According to him, his father allegedly conspired along with him to kidnap his sister’s son. The infant was kidnapped as he was playing outside. Singh later asked his son to demand the ransom for the safe release of the child, police said. The teenager has been sent to an observation home while his father  Dharam Singh was sent to judicial custody for 14 days.
