The farmers have to pay the premium specified for the rain-dependent crops, in the bank that comes under their service area: Ragi crop - Rs 84 (per one acre), paddy - Rs 146; groundnut - Rs 84, - Rs 146 and horsegram - Rs 43. Applying for the scheme is mandatory for the farmers who have obtained crop loan, Chandrashekhar said. The last date for submitting application is August 31.
