Rain triggers floods, clogs drains

Several low-lying areas, GM Palya, Shivajinagar, Marathahalli, Mahadevapura, Byrasandra, Indiranagar, Nagarabhavi and OMBR Layout, were flooded.  As Miller’s Road was closed for vehicle movement, traffic moved bumper-to-bumper on the waterlogged arterial roads.   Houses on OPH Road were flooded.

The residents blamed the Palike for delaying construction of drains in the area. 

The Meteorological Department has forecast cloudy weather with rain and thunder showers at some places in the next 24 hours.
