Chinese library has device to read books to blind

The device - launched by the Chinese National Library for the Blind - contains a scanner and a speaker. Readers scan a page of a book and put the storage or memory card into a speaker. The book is then read aloud to them, said the China Disabled Persons' Federation on its official website.

The library, founded in 1994, has a collection of over 50,000 Braille books, Xinhua reports.
Federation chairperson Zhang Haidi said blind people can now have access to the fantastic library from where they can keep pace with modern life.China has 12.33 million blind people, says the CDPF website.
