High Court summons BDA chief

Last Updated 30 June 2011, 19:11 IST

B Krishnappa had approached the High Court seeking return of his land acquired by the BDA claiming that the latter had not developed the layout within five years of acquisition, as required under law. The request, however, was rejected.

The petitioner’s land was acquired in 1988 and according to the information obtained by him through RTI, the development of the layout is “partially complete.”

Since the BDA claimed that around 52 sites have been formed over the acquired land and development was in progress in rest of the land, the Court sought a clarification from the commissioner himself. Justice D V Shylendra Kumar asked the BDA commissioner to appear before the court.
