The incident came to light on Saturday when the victim’s aunt approached the Narsapur police who booked a case against the boy’s parents under Section 324 of the IPC (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons or means), they said. While the boy’s mother Chandramma was arrested, his father Shankrayaa is absconding, they said. “After their repeated efforts to stop the boy from stealing failed, the parents resorted to this unheard kind of punishment on July 31,”police said.
The accused allegedly tonsured his head, and inflicted injuries on his private parts with a blade in the Lingapur village of Narsapur mandal in Medak district.
The boy allegedly stole Rs 5,300 meant for old-age and widow pension kept in their house as his mother Chandramma, who is a member of the SHG, used to distribute the amount to beneficiaries, police said.
