Judicial reforms soon, says Veerappa Moily

“The Judiciary in the country will witness a major reform after August 30. The next five years will be of judicial reforms,” Moily said, speaking after inaugurating the library at District Bar Association here on Saturday. Revealing that more than 3.5 crore cases are pending in various courts in the country Moily stated that 38 pc of pending cases are related to crime while 58 pc pertains to the government. Offenders are being punished in less than 8 pc of the cases. All these facts will be taken into account while initiating judicial reforms. There will be no political interference in the judiciary and all attempts will be made to ensure speedy justice to the public.

Moily called upon the advocates to serve litigants with dedication and service mentality . He said that well-equipped building for court halls and quarters for judges will be constructed at district and taluk headquarters.
