Growers asked to go for re-scheduling

Addressing the general body meeting of Kodagu Planters’ Association on Wednesday, Akhter said that the package was launched by the centre with the sole aim of helping the growers. About 70 per cent of the small growers have completed re-scheduling of the loans while the rest are yet to do it. “The centre has provided Rs 300 crore under the package, while the banks have provided Rs 150 crore. In this way the growers have got support of Rs 450 crore,” he said adding that at present elephant menace is the greatest problem faced by the growers, which needs to be tackled.
