They were protesting against the proposed multiplex and mall to be constructed by Nandish Associates on KR Puram Santhe Ground. Yele Srinivasa, president of the Okkoota, said 900 farmers will lose their means to livelihood if they are evicted from the Ground.
“The Ground, which measures around 4.27 acres, was given by the then Maharaja to the farmers to use it as a market. But vested interests want to construct a mall on this place,” he said. The farmers met the Governor in Raj Bhavan and submitted a memorandum.
