‘I get along very well with Vikrant’

Charming television actress Sriti Jha’s acting skills have been appreciated in both her shows, Shaurya Aur Suhani and Jyoti. In an interview, the actress speaks on how she manages to shoot for two daily soaps at a time amongst many other things.

How do you manage two shows at a time? Is it hectic?
It’s not much of a problem for me to manage as both the shows are of the same production house. They schedule it well for me and that is why it never becomes hectic. The time never clashes.

Which role among the two do you like playing? Which one is more like you?
I would say Sudha is closer to me but that doesn’t mean I don’t like Suhani. Unlike me, Sudha is very timid, shy and insecure. While Suhani is full of life. I think both the characters I play are very different, but yes Suhani’s character is bit similar to me.

Do you ever get late for the shoot?
No, not really. I make it a point to reach on time because I like being on time and not getting late. And these people coordinate the timings among themselves so well that it rarely happens that I get late on the sets of either of the shows.

Do you get time to watch IPL matches?
First of all I don’t like cricket as much as every other Indian does. I am not mad about it. I hardly get time to watch matches and whenever I do get some, I am so tired that I go to sleep. But it’s so much in the news and around you that you can’t escape it.

How your life has changed after joining the television industry?
My life has become very busy but no big change has happened yet. As soon as I am out of my shoot, I am the same, old Sriti and the best thing is that very rarely people recognise me, due to which I can be my own self.

Do you like the way of working here?
Yes, I like the way television people work and we all really work hard. We shoot all the thirty days a month with the same energy and enthusiasm just to entertain our viewers. I know it’s a bit hectic to work in the television industry but then the people are really dedicated towards their work here. I really like this dedication and even I have become much more sincere and dedicated after becoming a part of television industry.

People talk about your affair with Vikrant Massey. What do you have to say on this?
I would like them to be confused regarding this as I know people like talking about such issues. As long as I know there is nothing between us, these rumours won’t affect me. Yes, I really get along very well with Vikrant and we go out every alternate day, but it’s just a good friendship and nothing is cooking between us.

The different turns of life

Anurag Kashyap’s Rajuben airs on Specials@10 this Monday, May 11 at 10 pm on Sony Entertainment Television.
Rajshree is extremely shocked to hear from Rohit and asks him to never contact her.
He says he has been forced to call her and wants to meet her. She breaks down in Tabrez’s arms. The party announces a mixed list of candidates from both, the Joshi camp and Rajshree’s list.
But Joshi is rather smug and keeps asking Rajshree why is she so nervous. Rajshree waits alone to receive Rohit, who is now almost unrecognisable.
