<p>The decision to recommend a CBI probe into the twin murders comes a week after the Allahabad high court's order for a CBI probe into the murder of former Dy CMO Dr Y S Sachan inside Lucknow jail last month.<br /><br />Dr Singh was gunned down by unidentified assailants in the posh Gomti Nagar area in the city in April this year while Dr Arya, his predecessor, was shot dead in the same area in October last year while he was taking a morning stroll.</p>.<p>The government has also sought a CBI probe into the alleged irregularities in the use of NRHM funds in Lucknow but has kept other districts out of the probe. The decision is being seen as an attempt to deflect the Opposition’s criticism of the government over the NRHM scam and the twin murders.</p>
