A medley of old and new songs

The show, which has already completed four successful editions, is back again with a promise to offer much more entertainment and a pure musical experience.

The musical evening, organised by Garuda Mall, saw a thematic representation of the evolution of music from 1960 to the latest hits in Hindi and Kannada films.

The finalists of the earlier seasons, who have now found a successful career in film music, lent their voice to the romantic tracks treating the audience to a medley of old and new songs.

Budding playback singers like Supriya Ramakrishnaiah, Santosh, Deepak, Suvarna Rathod and Krishna T V crooned melodious songs and Rajesh Krishnan, one of the jury members, enthralled the audience with a few chartbusters.

Priyanka Upendra too didn’t lag behind in entertaining the crowd as she danced to the tracks of her latest flick with her husband Upendra, Srimathi on the request from the audience.

The musical evening began with the songs of 1960s like Pukarta Chala Hoon Main from the film Mere Sanam, Aaja Aaja Main Hoon Pyar Tera from Teesri Manzil and Chahe Koi Mujhe Junglee Kahe from Junglee.

Rajesh Krishnan sang Joteyali Joteyali from the movie Geetha, Nooru Janmaku from America America, Usire Usire from Huchcha and Yaaro, Kannalli Kannanittu from Orata.  The auditions for ‘Voice Of Bangalore Season – 5’ will begin from July 28 at National College.

To facilitate the IT professionals, the auditions will be also held on the campuses of Infosys and TCS. M S Ramaiah Engineering College, Jain College, R V Engineering College are also shortlisted for the auditions.

Rajesh Krishnan and other jury members will select eight men and eight women among the auditioned people who will enter the quarterfinals which will be held on September 8 and September 16.

The semi-finals for five men and five women will be held on September 24.  In the finals to be held in October, one male and one female contestant will be crowned as winners and they will get a Maruti A-Star car and other valuable prizes.
