BSY's letter to Gadkari

In a 21-page letter, he is learnt to have stated that he has decided to resign from the chief minister's post despite enjoying the support of about 78 MLAs of the party. He has also said he does not want to cause any embarrassment to the party high command by defying its direction to resign.

He has also sent a list of MLAs who are supporting him along with the letter. However, the letter was not released to the media.

Yeddyurappa, sources said, has explained in detail the way he had strived to build the party in the State and appealed Gadkari to allow him to continue working for the party as the party president in the State.He has strongly backed D V Sadananda Gowda for the chief minister's post and urged the national president to allow Gowda to succeed him.
