Viral fever cases on a rise in C'magalur

 Speaking to Deccan Herald on Wednesday, he clarified that no death cases have been registered due to viral fever so far and no cases of Cholera and leptospirosis (rat fever) have not yet been detected in the district.

He informed that laboratories are functioning in 7 government hospitals and 46 Primary Health Centres in the district and as far as detection of Cholera is concerned, District Vigilance unit has a full fledged Bio Chemistry laboratory for detection.

“Every week reports on epidemic diseases are collected from rural health centres, Primary Health Centres, Government and private hospitals as well as laboratories. The consolidated reports are sent to the government,” he said and added that since mosquitoes are the main carriers of epidemic diseases, fogging is done in 200 villages in the region.

Tuberculosis, Maria, Typhoid, Dengue, Chikungunya, kidney functioning, diabetes, Lipid profile tests are done in District Vigilance unit free of cost.

He said that if government provides a blood analyser, then functioning of the unit can be more efficient.
