<p>There was a stiff competition between the Congress and the JD(S) for the post. While Nanjunde Gowda bagged five votes and won the election, Jaffer from Congress got a total four votes. <br /><br />The Manager of the Bank functioned as the election officer. Outgoing president Gopalakrishna presided over proceedings.<br /><br />Nanjunde Gowda assured to work for the welfare of the bank. He also announced various new schemes and loans for the benefit of the farmers and sought the co-operation from the members in this regard.</p>
