I enjoy doing TV shows: Sonali Bendre

She insisted that she was not doing television to make the most of value time until taking up a film, unlike other actors.  “There are many people who are doing television shows because they are waiting for some offers. I am not. I am doing reality shows because I like doing that," she said.

“This is my genre I am comfortable doing it; I have an opinion, I want to voice it. I am good at what I am doing and I know I am good at it and I want to continue doing it. I am very clear I don’t want to do movies just now,” Sonali, who was among the three judges in the last two editions of the show too, told IANS in an interview.

The 36-year-old actor made a debut on television with children's reality show “Kya Masti Kya Dhoom” in 2001. “I am not doing television because I am waiting for a film. I was doing television when I was at the peak of my career and no one else was doing. I made that path to television that time,” said Sonali, who appeared in films like “Diljale”, “Duplicate” and “Sarfarosh”.

“When I first did the first television show people were shocked and laughed at me for taking that up. But the love I got after I did the show was amazing. Till now whenever I go to Delhi they still talk about ‘Kya Masti Kya Dhoom’. I didn’t do many shows but every show I did was very, very successful,” said Sonali.

Veteran actor Dharmendra made his debut as a judge on the small screen with this edition of the show.  When asked if she had to help him to get into the groove of judging a reality show, she said: “Dharmendraji is a legend being in the industry for so long. Look at his work experience look at his experience of life. Not only the contestant, even I, sitting next to him, learnt a lot. He is really sweet. He treats me as daughter."

“He is like a new member in the family and whenever a new member joins the family we try making him comfortable. That’s all what I did,” she said. This being the third season of the show, she said judging has become easier for her.

“Judging has become a bit easier than the first season because in the first season when you were judging these talents it was really difficult and stressful. Now as we have two seasons behind us, we have a benchmark," she said.

With family and children topping her priority, Sonali said she would not take up any films in the recent future.  “I am not interested in films right now. My priority is my family, my child. If I have the luxury of choosing, I would choose spending more time with my child. It’s the time when he could be moulded. Only a mother can mould him and give the level of attention a child needs,” she said.
