The purpose of the visit of these ministers was to urge the party high command to appoint Yeddyurappa as president of the party’s state unit.
During the talks in Bangalore leading to the formation of the D V Sadananda Gowda government, the leadership had rejected the demand.
The team of ministers met party national president Nitin Gadkari and placed their demands. Gowda was also present in the meeting.
Ministers V S Acharya, Umesh Katti, Basavaraj Bommai, Laxman Savadi, Murugesh Nirani, V Somanna and C M Udasi, all belonging to the Yeddyuappa camp joined the chief minister in the evening. However, none of the ministers belonging to the Jagadesh Shettar camp
turned up.
