Six lorries seized

Speaking to mediapersons after the raid, Tahsildar H Amaresh, who led the team of investigators, said the transporters would be dealt with severely.

“We got complaints of lorries transport sand illegally through Doddi in Masti hobli as well as Masti and Baliganahalli gram panchayat limits. On Wednesday morning, we raided the Jayamangala Cross on Hosur Road in Malur and seized six lorries,” explained Amaresh.

Owners fined

The owner of each lorry would be fined Rs 15,000 for the illegal activity. “Legal action will be taken against owners who fail to pay the fine,” he added.

Lakkur revenue officer Srinivas Reddy, village accountants Srinivas, Amar Shankar, Narayanappa and Muniratnamma were part of the investigating team.
