Dramas staged

On the occasion of ‘Hunnime Haadu - 38’, two dramas were staged by the Samudaya team from Bangalore.

Dr Siddalingaiah’s ‘Panchama’, was the first drama staged on the occasion.

Directed by CGK, it was followed by Mohammad Kunhi’s ‘Swatantryada Ota’, directed by Shashidhar Barigat, were performed. ‘Panchama’ is based on the atrocities faced by the Dalits, in the pretext of the development of the dalits.

While, ‘Swatantryada Ota’ is based on the lives of Hindus, Muslims and Sikhs who are left destitutes, during the struggle for the Indian independence. Both the dramas enchanted the audience and left them spellbound, by the artistes’ performances.

The powerful dialogues of ‘Panchama’ gripped the audience and kept them motionless, throughout.

While, ‘Swatantryada Ota’ was emotion-centred and was unique in its style of presentation. It clearly presented the various angles of the freedom struggle through its rich emotion-filled script. The audience were fed with power-packed performances and good dialogues, supported by good direction.

Bus facility

The people of Kolar had no problem reaching the venue. Thanks to the State Road Transport Corporation, which had provided transportation facility from the bus stand to
Adima.

This arrangement was made for the first time, for the benefit of the citizens.
The special bus, which brought the audience from the City, departed again at 11 pm, after the completion of the programme, back to the city bus stand.

It can be recalled that, participating in the previous ‘Hunnime Haadu’ programme, organised in the month of June, MLC V R Sudarshan had assured the people that bus facility would be provided to the commuters who were interested to attend the programme.
