Life imprisonment for murder

Property recovered

The South East police have claimed to have solved 172 cases by arresting 117 persons during the past few months. The police recovered stolen property worth Rs 2.39 crore from the suspects.

The recovered properties include vehicles, jewellery, cash and electronic gadgets.

Motorist killed in mishap

A motorist was killed on the spot when an unidentified vehicle knocked him down in Shivajinagar traffic police limits early Thursday morning. The accident took place near St John Church Road at Thomas Coffee Junction when Prem Kumar (20) was returning home on his bike.

The driver of the unidentified vehicle fled the spot, police said.

Auto driver kills self

Govindaraju (35), an autorickshaw driver, hanged himself to death at his Ursu Colony residence in Tilak Nagar on Wednesday.

Govindaraju had met with an accident and had suffered injuries on his leg.

Recently, he had been discharged from hospital, said the police.

The cops are collecting details on what forced him to take the extreme step.
