Sonia recovering on expected lines

“Mrs Gandhi’s recovery after the surgery has been normal and on the lines as expected by the doctors,” the leader said.

Sonia is recuperating at the Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, where she underwent a surgery for cervical cancer on August 4.

Her son Rahul Gandhi, who went with her, is likely to return before Independence Day.

However, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and her husband Robert Vadra will be with Sonia. The first meeting of the four-member panel to look after party affairs in Sonia’s absence is likely to be held soon. Rahul is one the member of this panel along with senior members A K Anthony,  Ahmed Patel and Janardan Dwivedi.
