Guruvandana programme held

The programme was organised by the Sri Sushameendra Theertha Samithi where Sushameendra Teertha awards were given away to the distinguished devotees of the seer.

Large crowd gathered at the National College Grounds to pay their respect to the departed seer. The present seer of the Mantralayam Peetha Swami Suyatheendra Teertha, Pejavar seer Sri Vishwesha Teertha, Beli Mutt seer Swami Shivarudra Swami, Vidwan Vidya Bhushan, former Chief Justice of India M N Venkatachala, Justice Sridhar Rao, ministers Ramachandra Gowda, Shobha Karandlaje, Aravind Limbavali, K S Eshwarappa, former chief minister Veerappa Moily, playback singer S P Balasubramanyam were present.

Sushameendra Theertha awards were given to the eminent disciples of the late Swami including the ministers, Justice Venkatachalaiah, Justice Sridhar Rao, S P Balasubramanyam.

Justice Venkatachalaiah said, “I have no capacity to gauge his spiritual depth. He was the greatest person who tried to unify the Hindus.”

Cine actor-politician Jaggesh remembered his childhood days when under the influence of Swami Sushameendra Teertha he diverted from wrong path to spirituality.
S P Balasubrahmanyam dedicated the song ‘Pibare Ramarasam’ to the late seer.
