Dy Director of prosecutions stabbed

He was immediately rushed to the district general hospital and he is said to be out of danger.

The incident occurred when Muttagi was on his way to his office from the Vikasa Soudha. While he was near the Information Office, Rathod came from the opposite direction and stabbed Muttagi on his chest with a knife. The police said, Muttagi had served a notice on Rathod for remaining absent from duty. This could have provoked Rathod to attack, police said.

Station Bazaar Police Inspector J H Inamdar said Rathod is absconding.
