JOIN USThe Court had directed B Krishna Bhat to allot sites to members of Vishwabharathi House Building Co-operative Society of which he was a president for more than a decade. It had also directed to upload the list of beneficiaries on a website and publish the details in two newspapers. Since the order was not acted upon, the Court issued a non bailable warrant against Bhat. The Police failed to arrest him and the Court had summoned Police Commissioner Jyothi Prakash Mirji.
“Just because someone is a VVIP, we will not let anybody to break the law. Nobody is above the law,” the Division Bench headed by Justice N Kumar noted. The court noted that the respondent (Bhat) was around the Court but does not appear before it. The Court directed issue of fresh warrant and arrest of Krishna Bhat by next week.
