Addressing a media conference here on Tuesday, Gurappa said that he had given his paintings 10 years ago for it to be displayed at the university museum. After taking the paintings the university hasn’t maintained them and despite repeated requests it has failed to consider my requests, he added.
After complaining to Lokayukta Justice Shivaraj Patil, the university has said that it can’t provide a separate place for displaying the paintings. If the university had told me earlier, the problem wouldn’t have occurred. The university is now returning the paintings after having destroyed them, he added. The paintings were based on mysteries of life, environment protection and growth of the country. There is a need to conserve the paintings, he urged. Artiste L Shivalingappa was also present.
