Reiterating his call to make the struggle go on, Hazare told the gathering assembled at the site of his fast, “The struggle should go on to end the problems in the country.” He appealed to the students to come forward and take the lead recalling heir contribution during independence struggle.

The Gandhian, who could not address his supporters on Monday apparently due to his ill health, was looking spirited and confidant.  He was addressing the people after the gap of 40 hours.

“Even if Lokpal comes and if such traitors run the country, what will happen? This is the question bothering me,” said Hazare.

He said he was watching for the past four months after the government set up the Joint Committee for drafting Lokpal bill. “Even there some people in the government were traitors, they tried to betray us,” he said. Hazare appealed to the people to intensify the struggle in favour of Jan Lokpal Bill. He stuck to his August 30 deadline for passage of the Bill and called them to  gherao houses of MPs  if government did not  do so.

“Now, 25-30 people are sitting on dharnas in front of MPs’ residences. If the government does not pass the bill by 30 August, we have to intensify the protest. Protesters in thousands should gherao the residences of MPs then,” he said

He also spelt out his vision of national generation and appealed them to “reconstruct their villages” and “get rid of social evils.”He said no land should be acquired without the approval of village council as it is the supreme body.
