Speaking to reporters after offering ‘Baagina’ to Almatti Reservoir, near here on Saturday, Chief Minister Yeddyurappa said,  “Twenty-four districts in the State have received sufficient rains. The remaining four are facing water scarcity due to lack of rains. Sub-Committee of the legislature will meet to discuss the situation and announce these districts as drought hit, if these districts do not get rains in the next two weeks or so.”

He said he prayed to the god not to make people and cattle suffer from the drought.

Offering the ‘Baagina’ was on of the means to appease the rain god. “We hope that the remaining four districts will also get rains soon,” Yeddyurappa said.
