And for seafood lovers, who crave for good quality seafood that’s light on the wallet, ‘Blue Fin Seafood’, located at the atrium inside the 5th Avenue Mall, is the place to be.

Serving fresh seafood delicacies, priced between Rs 99 and Rs 150, the eatery has left a mark on all its loyal customers within a year of its launch.

Without making much noise, the place has survived through word of mouth, because Kenny Ramanand, whose passion for food led him to open this small eatery, believes that his food does all the talking. In fact, the eatery’s tagline, Bestu Fishu Bestu Prawnsu, was given by one of his customers.

“One day, a customer came up and told us this and we thought it expresses everything we stand for,” adds Kenny.  From fish, prawns, crabs to even squid in sauces and gravies of different styles, a fish lover is spoilt for choice out here.

Keeping the cuisine pan-India, one can go in for dishes like ‘Prawn Spring Roll’, ‘Fried Anchovi Tub’, ‘Rock Melt Prawns’, ‘Crab Cutlets’, ‘Prawn Burgers’ or ‘Butter Garlic Squid Rings’. With each plate serving upto 10 to 12 pieces of large or jumbo prawns, one dish is a meal in itself.

Bringing in stronger flavours of Indian cuisine, the eatery also provides gravies and dry items like the ‘Bengali Fish’, ‘Chettinad Fish’, ‘Ghee Roast Prawns’ and taking inspiration from the Dal Makhani, the eatery has invented a Makhani Prawns.

“We wanted to bring in a bit of India in every dish. We do have the traditional ‘Fish and Chips’ and we also have these traditional items which I have tasted during my visits across the country,” says Kenny, who recently introduced some new dishes to the menu.

“All this while, we never served rice. Hence we have thought of serving the gravies with a large portion of rice and Kerala parotas. We also introduced prawn biryani and we hope to see how the customers like these entries,” he adds. Santosh, the manager of the eatery, states that ‘Butter Garlic Prawns’ is a popular pick. “It’s like a hot favourite amongst many youngsters who visit the store,” he adds.

Interestingly, the vegetarians don’t have to go fishing in troubled waters out here. The eatery has a small corner for the vegetarians and chicken lovers. “We understand that not all are fish lovers, so we have introduced few dishes that can be relished by them as well,” says Kenny.

‘Blue Fin Seafood’ is located at the 5th Avenue Mall, Brigade Road. For details call 42163908.
