Interestingly, only one patient had travelled abroad. <br /><br />The 40-year-old US citizen of Indian origin had returned from the United States on July 26 and developed the symptoms. <br /><br />“I think the rest seven patients must have got H1N1 influenza from their schools,” said the Hospital’s resident medical officer, Dr Raviraj. All the patients are stable. <br /><br />Seventy-five suspected cases were screened and 46 throat swab samples were collected at the Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Chest Diseases (RGICD) on Saturday. <br /><br />The patients were categorised as A, B and C where A meant the higher risk groups of children, senior citizens and patient with severe symptoms, B for mild symptoms and C for patients who came out of curiosity. <br /><br />Twenty six cases were categorised under group A.<br /><br />Meanwhile, three patients were admitted to Manipal Hospital including a 59-year-old lady, who was shifted to the ICU. Only one positive case is currently at the St John’s Hospital.</p>
